One class does it all

PiYo Live is a new body conditioning, no-impact combination class based on Pilates and Yoga and set to pop music.

The programme, developed by Beachbody celebrity trainer Chalene Johnson, combines stretching, strength and cardio to offer flexibility and mobility as well as an aerobic workout within one class.

The workout is intended to challenge the muscles and burn calories while also refreshing the exerciser, using dynamic movement.

PiYo Live needs no equipment and can be done barefoot or with shoes. The class can be done in 60, 45 or 30-minutes, with strength or stretch focusses.

PiYo Live is license-free and clubs need to engage certified instructors.

Will Brereton, senior director of Beachbody Live EMEA said: “PiYo is not a mind-body class, but meets members’ needs for a challenging no impact workout that also makes them sweat.

"People who don’t feel comfortable with the spirituality of yoga, or time poor people who know they need to stretch but don’t want to give up their cardio time are perfect fits for PiYo.”
